Amanda Bass for Tomball ISD School Board Position 5

Hi, I’m Amanda Bass and I’m so glad that you are here! I’m a native Texan that has lived in Tomball for 15 years. First and foremost, I’m married to my husband of 20 years, Jim. We have three children who keep us on our toes! Kate is 16, a junior in high school, TMHS cheerleader, an FFA student, and a member of the National Charity League Texas Topaz Chapter. Grace is 13, in the eighth grade, a WWJH cheerleader, plays club soccer (Go Legacy 💚), and is also a member of the NCL Texas Topaz Chapter. William is 10, in the fifth grade, plays select baseball (Go Unleashed! 🩵) and football (Go Tomball Pats!), and loves to hunt, fish, and do all things outdoors. We are busy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

 

We moved to Tomball 15 years ago because we wanted our kids to attend Tomball ISD schools. We loved and still love that “small town feel” that Tomball offers. When Kate started elementary school, I felt so welcomed and appreciated as a parent volunteer. I served on her elementary school PTO starting from her kindergarten year. I planned pep rallies, painted signs, was a homeroom mom for at least one and sometimes three classes every year, served as the PTO VP of Fundraising, taught Junior Achievement for more years than I can remember, and was in charge of Teacher Appreciation (one of my favorite volunteer positions 🤍). I’ve served on campus improvement committees at the elementary, intermediate, junior high, and high school levels, as well as on district-wide improvement committees and strategic plan committees. I was even a member of the inaugural Tomball ISD Leadership Class!

 

In 2018, I began serving the Tomball ISD Education Foundation where I served as a committee member on the marketing & events team, then went on to serve as VP of Marketing, and for the last three years, I’ve served and continue to serve as the President. Since my husband and I enrolled our oldest daughter, Kate, in Tomball, the student population has more than doubled! I tell my friends all the time that I didn’t grow up in Tomball, but I’ve grown up with Tomball. I understand firsthand what it’s like from the lens of a parent because I am a parent and I’m spread across three different TISD campuses. I love Tomball and I love Tomball ISD.

 

Outside of the district, for 19 years I’ve been active in the Real Estate investment industry, where I have the opportunity to teach my clients to build generational wealth through investing in short and long term rental properties, flip houses, and grow their real estate portfolio. I’ve also served on the board for the NCL Texas Topaz Chapter. I am very involved and have a deep love for working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where for 16 years, I’ve co-chaired a fundraising event, Kiss for a Cure, to raise money to fund research to find a cure for those living with Cystic Fibrosis 💜. I was fortunate enough to be the Cystic Fibrosis Sierra Award recipient, and I love working alongside my committee and the CF Gulf Coast Chapter. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching my kids play sports and cheer on their school teams, fishing, running-I've trained and ran six marathons and eight half marathons, and spending time at our farm. 

 

I feel very grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust to be elected as a Tomball ISD School Board trustee. I will work tirelessly and bring unmatched energy to do whatever is needed to help continue to elevate this great school district!
